Proxima Media has led a second round of financing for the app.

Following in the footsteps of overnight short-form movie disruptor TikTok is a relative newcomer to the societal media arena called Triller. There is apparently clever money behind it also, with thought leaders in the worlds of hip, EDM and pop among its next shareholders.

Proxima Media increased $28 million in funding for the endeavor two months back at a Series B round. They’ve announced another round of investors in addition to strategic partners including EDM industry figureheads like Marshmello, his supervisor Moe Shalizi, also Ash Pournouri, who previously managed the late Avicii. Among Trillers other new dealers are The Blueprint Group CEO Gee Roberson and XO Records CEO Sal Slaiby in addition to artists such as The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne and Tyga.

Triller offers editing programs to simplify vlogging and music video editing, among other features. The stage has licensing partnerships with the”big three” record labels, also promises to be undergoing increase of 500% over month.

Of Triller’s 75 million users, 26.5 million reportedly use it monthly on average.
