Publishing Briefs: Multiple Signings at Sony/ATV, Kobalt Enters India & More
Sony/ATV has signed a number of new publishing deals. They include:
A global government agreement with songwriter and producer Freddy Wexler, that has co-written such strikes as Marshmello along with Halsey’s “Be Kind,” the Jonas Brothers’ “Like It’s Christmas,” Kanye West’s “Wolves” along with Ariana Grande along with Justin Bieber’s Hot 100 No. 1 “Stuck With U.” He releases music as an artist under the name Jackson Penn..
A global co-publishing deal with songwriter and Def Jam artist Bobby Sessions, known for co-writing that the No. 1 single “Savage Remix” from Megan Thee Stallion along with Beyoncé. Under his own namehe has also released tracks such as “The Hate U Give” “Level Up” & ldquo &;Black Neighborhood” feat. Killer Mike. The arrangement covers Sessions’ full catalog.
A worldwide publishing agreement with songwriterproducer and multi-instrumentalist Karen Kosowski (beneath Sony/ATV Nashville), that has been a force behind popular country tracks including Mickey Guyton’s “What Are You GonId Tell Her? ”, The Washboard Union’s & “Country Thunder” & Tim Hicks’ “What a Song Should Do. ” She works in different genres, with credits including Tryon’s & “Somebody to Love Me” along with Emma-Lee’s & “It Won’t Be Christmas. ”
A worldwide publishing deal with Swedish songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Linus “Lotus IV” Wiklund, who has composed tracks including Zedd’s “Stay&rdquo& &; ldquo;Happy Now” feat. Elley Duhé, David Guetta’s & “Don’t Leave Me Alone” feat. Anne-Marie, Rita Ora’s & “Let You Love Me” along with Avicii’s & “I Could Be the One. ”
A worldwide publishing agreement with music producer Ángel Gabriel Figueroa (a.k.a. D-Note “The Beatllionare”-RRB-. Producing credits for Figueroa, Who’s signed to GLAD Empire, include Alex Rose, Rauw Alejandro along with Lenny Tavarez’s “Toda. ” He has also worked closely with performers including Miky Woodz, J Alvarez along with Cosculluela.
A trio of publishing firms — Kobalt, Fairwood Music Group along with Konic Records — have entered the Indian market through sub-publishing agreements using Turnkey Music & Publishing. All three deals were effective as of July 1.
Kobalt, the biggest independent publisher in the world, reflects over 25,000 songwriters, 600 publishers along with 20,000 artists including Dua Lipa, The Weeknd and Marshmello. The London-based Fairwood has represented musicians and songwriters including David Bowie, U2 along with Cat Stevens, although Konic Records — which focuses on stone and electro-pop releases — signifies the catalogs of singer-songwriter-producer James Kennedy and Kyshera.
Warner Chappell Music has signed acclaimed songwriter and producer Fraser T. Smith into an international publishing deal. Smith has worked with some including Adele, Britney Spears, Drake, Kesha and Sam Smith, among others. It had been with Adele he collaborated on the Hot 100 No. 1 & 1 ldquo;Set Fire to the Rain,” which got a Grammy in 2013 for best pop solo performance (to get a live version in the DVD Live at the Royal Albert Hall). He had been nominated for another Grammy in 2015 because of his job on Sam Smith&rsquoalbum In The Lonely Hour.

Warner Chappell Music has signed a worldwide management deal with Mexican grupero Bronco. The agreement covers the band’s full catalog — including such hits as “Dos Mujeres, un Camino,” “Vamos a Amarla Los Dos” along with “Libros Tontos” — along with releases going forward.
Known to get a sound that pays tribute to the Norteño convention while incorporating modern tools along with a pop fashion, Bronco has sold 14 million albums worldwide over a career spanning four years, making gold and platinum records in nations including Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay. Music writer and record label Riptide Music Group has obtained boutique audio placement and sync licensing company Hidden Track Music. Under the deal, Hidden Track creator Justin Bumper Reeve will direct Riptide’s TV, movie, video game and advertising creative sync.Founded at 2011, Hidden Track signifies labels, publishers, songwriters and musicians, servicing their music to picture, television, movie trailers, advertising, video and sports games. The Organization ’s roster includes Big Boi, Courtney Barnett along with Major Lazer, while tag clients including Big Brother Recordings, Kitsuné Musique, Mom + Pop Records, Mushroom Group, Neon Gold and OWSLA.
Spirit Music Group has signed a deal with R&B singer-songwriter David Lyn. The agreement includes Lyn’all and s catalog releases going forward.
The Jamaican-American Lyn — younger brother of Grammy-winning producer IzyBeats — only released his debut single, “Can’t Breathe,” having an EP slated this summer to adhere to. As a songwriter, Lyn led to Koffee’s & “W” feat. Gunna.
