Marshmello’s EDM Roots Bubble to the Surface With Ferocious New Collab, “Hitta” With Eptic and Juicy J
Mello has tapped one of the bass music scene’s most admired sound designers to get an all-purpose attack on the senses.
Marshmello, Eptic, and Juicy J have combined forces to get a monster collaboration referred to as”Hitta.”
While”Hitta” doesn’t quite signify a return to form for Marshmello, whose saccharine, fan-favorite future bass beats have even taken a backseat to dance-pop and mainstream hip-hop, it’s a massive return to his EDM roots.
The track finds Marshemello tapping among the electronic scene’s most admired audio designers, Eptic, to get a bass and hip-hop music hybrid that doubles as an all-out attack on the senses. “Hitta” foams at the mouth with trap ferocity, emphasized by the bombastic filthy south flows of Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, who spits furiously over thunderous 808s in the verses.

“Hitta” will be the hottest in a flurry of typically high profile collaborative tracks for Mello, who’s awakened with Carnage, Jonas Brothers, and Benny Blanco along with Vance Joy, among others, lately.
Taking into consideration the horsepower behind”Hitta,” it is fair to wonder whether it will appear as one on Marshmello’s forthcoming album, which now does not have a name or release date. He has alluded to the album’s release several occasions in 2021 after announcing it is complete in early January, with the latest tease coming in a recent tweet that informed enthusiasts,”Now it’s album time for my Day 1 Mellogang.”
